Nicholas Eoanou

Nicholas “Nico” Eoanou serves as CEO of CHECKMATE JAPAN. He has extensive political and business experience in Southeast Europe, Turkey, the MENA region, and the Asian market.

Nico began his career as an entrepreneur, founding several businesses before structuring EPC contracts for ENR (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) companies. He later expanded his practice into the energy and defense sectors, where he served as a trusted advisor and project oversight officer, ensuring projects ran smoothly and minimizing disputes and misunderstandings. He also has a long history of working with government agencies and has expertise in mitigating risk and liability for international companies operating in complex markets. His ability to build strong, trusting relationships with both long-standing and new clients, combined with his practical problem-solving skills, has earned him a reputation as a consistently effective leader.

A native of Connecticut, USA, he studied finance at Sacred Heart University. He is a devout Greek Orthodox Christian and actively supports nonprofit organizations that assist countries affected by natural disasters.

At CHECKMATE JAPAN, he oversees the company's overall strategy and serves as the primary liaison with CHECKMATE USA, working to strengthen business ties between Japan and the US.
